Survey Unit (Quantitative and Qualitative)
Since the establishment of the center in 1997, surveys and opinion polls have been a central part of the CDS’s work. In 2007, a specialized survey unit was established, reflecting the considerable amount of work carried out over the previous 10 years. In that time, the unit has carried out more than 50 field surveys, including interviews with more than 100,000 citizens as well as more than 1000 focus groups, case studies and in-depth interviews. These surveys have targeted different sectors of the society, including children and young people, men, women as well as different parts of the West Bank and Gaza Strip, and are carried out by 120 field researchers. .The researchers have been trained in the various procedures and methodologies associated with scientific research and field surveys, in addition to periodic training designed for each survey.
