Arabic Ontology http://sites.birzeit.edu/comp/ArabicOntology Thu, 03 May 2012 14:30:35 +0000 en hourly 1 http://wordpress.org/?v=3.0.5 معهد ابن سينا يطلق عمل تعاوني باسم “مشروع الانطولوجيا العربية” بالاشتراك مع مكتب عمادة شؤون الطلبة – جامعة بيرزيت http://sites.birzeit.edu/comp/ArabicOntology/news-events/community-work/ http://sites.birzeit.edu/comp/ArabicOntology/news-events/community-work/#comments Tue, 13 Mar 2012 14:22:14 +0000 dima http://sites.birzeit.edu/comp/ArabicOntology/?p=394 Read more »]]> اطلق معهد ابن سينا المرحلة الأولى من العمل التعاوني بالاشتراك مع مكتب عمادة شؤون طلبة جامعة بيرزيت، والذي يعتبر الأول من نوعه، ويعتبر هذا العمل جزء من مشروع أنطولوجيا اللغة العربية، وهو مشروع قائم حالياً في المعهد. ويتضمن العمل جمع أكبر عدد من المكانز والمعاجم العربية والقواميس متعددة اللغات كمرحلة أولى، ومن ثم تقسيمها إلى أجزاء صغيرة بعدد صفحات معين، ليتم توزيعها لاحقاً على طلبة الجامعة لطباعتها. حتى الآن تم جمع 35 كتاب ما بين مكنز ومعجم وقاموس، وتم تقسيمهم إلى ما يقارب 105 أجزاء أي ما يزيد عن 5700 صفحة. وتكمن آلية العمل بأن يتم تسليم الأجزاء المذكورة إلى مسؤولة العمل التعاوني في مكتب عمادة شؤون الطلبة – السيدة غادة العمري، والتي تقوم بدورها بتوزيع هذه الأجزاء على الطلبة المعنيين، حيث يتم احتساب ساعات عمل تعاوني لكل طالب يقوم بطباعة أي جزء. ويعتبر هذا العمل خطوة مهمة وفاعلة في سبيل إنجاح مشروع الانطولوجيا العربية، حيث ستكوّن الكتب المطبوعة حجر الأساس لتكوين قاعدة البيانات الخاصة بالمشروع . وسوف يتم إطلاق مرحلة ثانية من هذا العمل في وقت قريب، لتشمل عدد أكبر من المكانز والمعاجم والقواميس، لإثراء قاعدة بيانات مشروع من جهة و المحتوى الالكتروني العربي من جهة أخرى.

فازت جامعة بيرزيت بمشروع “سيرة” الممول من (EU FP7) بقيمة نصف مليون يورو في مجال الإشكالات اللغوية والثقافية في نشر المعرفة الرقمية (Multilingual and Multicultural Knowledge Sharing and Search Engines).

تأتي أهمية هذا المشروع ليس فقط في مضمونه، بل كونه أول مشروع (FP7) تفوز به الجامعة كمنسق ومدير للمشروع (Coordinator and Grant Holder)، مما يسهل حظوظ الجامعة في الفوز بمشاريع أوروبية مماثلة مستقبلاً، حيث تعتبر (FP7) إحدى أهم البرامج البحثية التي يمولها الاتحاد الأوروبي، والتي تخضع لتنافسية ومعايير عالية الجودة والتخصصية. إضافة الى ذلك، يعتبر هذا المشروع هو  مشروع تأسيسي ل”معهد جامعة بيرزيت لدراسات هندسة المعرفة والتقنيات العربية (ابن سينا)”. ومن الجدير بالذكر، أن هذا المعهد، والذي سيطلق قريبا، متخصص في الأبحاث المتعلقة بالتقنيات اللغوية وهندسة المعرفة والذكاء الإصطناعي، ويأتي كمأسسة ومظلة للعديد من الأبحاث والمشاريع القائمة حاليا بما فيها مشروع أكاديمية الحكومة الإلكترونية الممول من برنامج (TEMPUS) ومشروع تقنيات محركات البحث العربية الممول من شركة (Google) العالمية، ومشروع الأنطولوجيا العربية، ومشروع حوكمة الإجراءات، والوب الدلالي، والعديد من المشاريع الأخرى، وقد تنضم إليه مشاريع وفرق بحث أخرى تعمل في المجال لاحقا.

تتلخص فكرة مشروع “سيرة” في الاستجابة لتنامي الاهتمامات العالمية المشتركة في العديد من المجالات والمشكلات، وبالتالي تنامي الحاجة للتبادل المعرفي بين المجتمعات المختلفة الذي  تتيحه الثورة الرقمية الهائلة، حيث يركز المشروع على مواجهة والتعامل مع التنوع في المعايير واللغات والثقافات التي تعيق التبادل المعرفي الرقمي بين الشعوب وتطويعها.

يهدف المشروع بشكل رئيسي إلى تعزيز التعاون بين المتخصصين الفلسطينيين والأوروبيين في مجال الإشكالات اللغوية والثقافية في نشر المعرفة الرقمية حيث سيشكل معهد ابن سينا قاعدة للتعاون والتوأمة مع أربعة جامعات أوروبية رائدة في هذا المجال، وذلك من خلال: (1). الإعداد لأبحاث مشتركة والتعاون على إنجازها على المدى القصير والطويل، (2). الإشراف المشترك على أطروحات دكتوراة لطلبة فلسطينيين في جامعة بيرزيت، (3). تنظيم مؤتمرات إقليمية ومدارس صيفية في المجالات ذات الاهتمام المشترك.

سيتم تطبيق المشروع في مرحلته التجريبية الأولى على حقلين معرفيين، لهما أهمية كبيرة، إضافة لحجم التحديات التي تواجههما، فلسطينيا وعالميا، وهما التراث الثقافي، والبيئة وعلوم الطبيعية. فعلى صعيد التراث الثقافي، سيتم ربط التراث الفلسطيني المتوفر رقميا ب (MICHAEL) وهو قاعدة معرفية ومحرك بحث أوروبي متخصص في التراث الثقافي، ويربط محتويات أهم المتاحف والمكتبات والأرشيفات المتخصصة بالتراث الأوروبي. أما على الصعيد البيئي، فسيتم ربط المعلومات البيئية والمياه وعلوم الطبيعة الفلسطينية والعربية ب(KYOTO) وهو مدونة ومحرك بحث عالمي متخصص ومتعدد اللغات. سيتم من خلال هذا الربط، ليس فقط إغناء المحتوى العربي في المجالين المذكورين، بل، والأهم من ذلك أيضا، إغناء محركات البحث بتقنيات تدعم البحث الدلالي ومتعدد اللغات، بما فيها اللغة العربية.

وفي هذا السياق، صرح أ.د. عدنان يحيى/ نائب رئيس الجامعة للشؤون الأكاديمية، وهو أحد الباحثين الفاعلين في المشروع أن تركيز هذا المشروع وكذلك المشاريع الأخرى في المعهد على معالجة اللغة العربية، إغناء للغة العربية بل وإثراء لصناعة البرمجيات في فلسطين لما لهذه الصناعة من أهمية متزايدة في الاقتصاد الوطني، وأضاف يحيى أن الإشراف المشترك على أطروحات دكتوراة في جامعة بيرزيت بالتعاون مع جامعات أوروبية مرموقة يزيد من خبرة الجامعة وطموحها في تأسيس برامج دكتوراة مستقلة خاصة في المجالات التي تملك فيها الجامعة ريادة علمية من خلال الكادر التدريسي في الجامعة وأجندته البحثية المستدامة.

The Arabic language is currently being investigated from various points of view at Birzeit University. There are currently four main parties that are researching Arabic from the aspects of logic, philosophy and computation. The importance of this arises from the fact the nations who are progressing in the field of the modern technologies are incorporating their mother tongues in the web, and in order to do that, Arabs have to take initiative to add Arabic to them. This pushed professors from various specialties and departments in Birzeit University to try to study how this can be done from their own point of view, and depending on their own fields and expertise. On Sunday, October 31st, a workshop titled “Arabic Language between Automation and Philosophy at Birzeit University” was held, to bring together those parties to share their work and findings.

يسر برنامج ماجستير الحوسبة في جامعة بيرزيت الإعلان عدد من الوظائف الجزئية للطلبة والمهتمين، حيث لا تتطلب هذه الوظائف التواجد في مكان العمل ويتمكن الجميع من أنجازها في البيت. تأتي هذه الوظائف ضمن النشاطات البحثية الهادفة لأتمتة اللغة العربية، وتتركز حول إدخال (طباعة ومراجعة) كمية كبيرة من الكتب والمصادر والمعاجم العربية ليتم معالجتها آلياً بعد ذلك. يتلقى الطالب مبلغ مالي مقطوع (حوالي 200-600 شيكل) مقابل طباعة ومراجعة كل كتاب حسب حجمه. يرجى العلم أيضاً أنه سيتم احتساب ستون ساعة كخدمة مجتمع لكل مشارك.

The meeting was attended by a number of high profile Arab experts from Tunis, Palestine, Egypt, Syria, Morocco, Canada, and the United States of America, in addition to international consultants from IBM – New York, Sakhr Software, and Luxor Technologies, Inc, Canada.

In the meeting, Dr. Jarrar presented his paper Building a Formal Arabic Ontology, which discussed the progress made in building the Arabic Ontology in Birzeit University.

The seed fund will support: (i) building the core of the Arabic Ontology Database which will include about 10,000 concepts; (ii) developing the matching algorithm that will be used to map Arabic concepts to English concepts; (iii) publishing a portion of the results of the research project, (iv) disseminating the outcomes of the initial stage of the project and raising the awareness of the local Palestinian scientists and researchers through informative workshops.
