Three Electrical Engineering students published a conference paper entitled “Photovoltaic Integration in a micro-grid power system” in the 4th Desert Energy Conference held on October, 2013 in Rabat, the paper was selected amongst the best ten papers in the conference. This research is conducted by Salma Sbeihat, Amanda Habash, Salam Saleh  under the supervision of Dr.Muhammad Abu-Khaizaran. The paper investigate the integration of a Photovoltaic (PV) system in a micro grid power system. The solar energy is converted to electricity via a PV array followed by a boost converter  to adjust the DC voltage to meet the requirements of the inverter, which gives an AC output  voltage convenient to the utility grid. The system is modeled and simulated in  MATLAB/Simulink environment. Then there was a trend to build the most important, attractive and challenging part in the Photovoltaic power system, which is the three phase Voltage Source Inverter VSI with its control circuit.
