            In this week's English show we bring you news updates from Palestine. We also interview Khaleda Jarrar, coordinator of the Samar and Jawad Campaign and director of Addameer, a human rights organisation based in Ramallah. She will talk about the campaign which was established to support two Palestinian students who were studying in Britain when they were arrested and accused of bombing the Israeli embassy in Britain.

            In our Arabic Show we we have two interviews in addition to news updates from Palestine. Our first interview is with Suha Barghouthi, the wife of Ahmad Qatamesh, a Palestinian writer who was arrested by the Palestinian Authority in connection to the "Petition of Twenty". Our second interview is with Birzeit University staff member Lubna Abdul Hadi who will talk about an alumni project to locate and collect information on past Birzeit University graduates.

            Many activities have been held this week at Birzeit University in support of Palestinian prisoners. Prisoners launched an open-ended hunger strike today and solidarity actions are occurring across the West Bank and Gaza Strip. Next week, Birzeit University students will be joining the hunger strike and this week on OutLoud we bring you coverage of the prisoner issue from the perspective of the Birzeit community.

            In our Arabic show we interview the heads of each of the student political blocs about the prisoner campaign. We also ask students about their impressions of the campaign and we broadcast some of the speeches from a rally held on Wednesday at the university.

            In our English Show we speak to students about the prisoner campaign as well as the Birzeit University lawyer for the Human Rights Action Project who tells us about the situation of imprisoned Birzeit students.

            We also interview Debra Gordon, who is currently in the West Bank doing research on feminism in Palestine. She spoke to us about her intitial impressions and the short stories she is writing during her time here.

            Mahmoud Darwish is one of Palestine's most respected and loved poets. In this week's English broadcast on OutLoud, we present a special on Darwish - his poetry and his life. Birzeit student Kifah Fani discusses the meaning of Mahmoud Darwish's poetry, and we play songs by different artists based on his work. We also play a recording of Darwish himself reading one of his poems.

            We have been reminded this week that there can be no peace without the release of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails. We speak with one of the co-ordinators of the recent Prisoners Week at Birzeit University.

Professor Said discusses the role of memory and identity in the case of Palestine.             In our English Show we interview Dr. Sharif Kanaana, Professor of Anthropology at Birzeit University about the causes of the Palestinian expulsion in 1948, and the "new" historians of Israel. Dr. Kanaana expands on the points made in his article "The Palestinian Exodus in 1948" which we published on the Our Voice website last month http://home.birzeit.edu/ourvoice.

            In our Arabic Show we interview students and staff on their opinions about the latest negotiations, we speak to Amne Badran from the Jerusalem Center for Women and Ashraf Dabah a Birzeit Student, tells us about the latest developments in Re-Union Week (a week focused on reuniting Palestinians on either side of the Green Line). Plus we play some local music.

            Our English show also has interviews with the university community about the negotiations and an interview with Amne Badran. We also broadcast a special report on Jerusalem which looks at how life has changed for Palestinians over the last 5 years.
